General Interest: The Dangers Of Feminism

I realize the title alone is sure to ruffle the feathers of more than a few proud, independent women, so before the negative reader feedback starts, hear me out. I fully enjoy my womanhood (except the menstrual stuff; I could do without that) and I believe I am entitled to everything that my male counterparts are. I just think maybe this feminism kick has been taken a bit too far.
Amazing women have come before us to create a world where women and men can receive equal pay, equal respect and equal choice. I would never try to downplay the contributions of women who contributed to the women’s suffrage movement in our country or the women who are still fighting for the right to vote in countries around the world today. It’s hard not to be inspired by the Women’s Liberation movement of the 1960s. Heck, I’m even impressed by Katherine Hepburn’s insistence on wearing pants when the starlets of the era were still expected to appear in dresses.

This article could have been written by me, it mirrors so may of my own thoughts.
Feminism was supposed to free us up to persue our dreams, to tackle any job we felt we wanted to do, to be paid on a par with the men when we did the same job. It did many of the things we wanted although many of the injustices remain. Yes, Virginia, there is still a glass ceiling and the "good ol boys clubs" still exist; don't you believe otherwise.
But all too often we simply took on more tasks and somehow along the way, the task of nurturing the next generation became devalued. For both sexes it became yet another way to devalue women. I speak as an ardent femimist: there is absolutely no more valuable contribution to be made to society than the nurturing of a contributing member. Mom's of the world, stand up and be proud!
This line says it all...
Let’s fight for the right to be a mother OR a career woman, to love men and all their idiosyncrasies, to be proud of our womanhood and not apologize for it.
